What we do
We specialize in making every birding experience an adventure in its own way. For some this may mean camping at 7000' and waking up to Buff-breasted Flycatchers calling over your tent, or backpacking into a remote canyon known to harbor Rufous-capped Warblers. For others, this may be a driving tour of traditional hotspots where exciting rarities like Rose-throated Becards and Flame-colored Tanagers await. For still others this may mean waiting quietly in one spot, seeking intimate and educational encounters with resident species like Painted Redstarts or Arizona Woodpeckers.
No matter what your idea of "Adventure Birding" is, we can make it happen.
We look forward to fulfilling your guiding needs.

Who we are
Jake, John, and Keith make every effort to ensure each trip is memorable,
educational, fun, and unique. Featured here is a brief introduction to help you
get to know each of them before your trip.

Jake Mohlmann
graduated from Penn State with a degree in Recreation and Parks
Management. He has long specialized in natural history interpretation,
and is now combining these talents with his voluminous knowledge of
ornithology. While he has regularly traveled around the continent for
bird-related field work, he is always excited to return to sunny southeastern Arizona
to live and bird. Special interests: Sparrows, raptors, rails and their riparian counterparts. |

John Yerger graduated from Penn State with a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science.
While John enjoys every bird from the drabbest common resident to the most dazzingly plumaged rarity, he is equally engaged by many other aspects
of natural history. He has led trips from the boreal forests of Canada to the subtropics of Mexico, but primarily enjoys living and birding in
southeastern Arizona. John currently serves as the Field Expedition Chair for the Arizona Field Ornithologists, volunteers as a Field Trip Leader
for the Tucson Audubon Society, and compiles the Tucson Rare Bird Alert. Special interests: Montane passerines, shorebirds, and avian ecology. |

Keith Kamper is a founding member and the Vice-President of the Arizona Field Ornithologists, and has penned articles for that organization's journal
"Arizona Birds." While attending university he led trips for the Alabama Ornithological Society. He has birded throughout the lower 48, Alaska (including a six week fall survey on St. Paul in the Pribilof's,
which produced North America's 2nd Wood Warbler), and has professionally guided multiple tours to Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. He currently resides in Vail, Arizona
(near Tucson) where he is a volunteer Field Trip Leader for the Tucson Audubon Society. He especially enjoys sharing his passion with those who are new to birding.
Special interests: Shorebirds, flycatchers, bird vocalizations and sound recording. |
