Currently we are pleased to offer several trips in North America, and plan to add more. Some of these set-departure tours are designed to bird at a relaxed pace, taking the time we need to fully savor all that each location has to offer. Other tours are great for folks who have limited vacation time, but still want to pack in lots of birds and scenery in a shorter trip. Regardless of the approach, the end result is always tons of birds and oodles of fun!
When experienced birders think of southeastern Arizona, they often think "spring" or the now-famous "monsoon". But in fact, southeastern Arizona offers some of the best winter birding in the United States! Many southwestern U.S. specialties can still be found in smaller numbers. At the same time, a different suite of species arrive from scattered parts of the northern U.S. and Canada, concentrating here to take advantage of the mild climate and abundant resources.
The Lower Rio Grande Valley of south Texas in April is one of the most exciting spectacles we've seen in the United States. With a good fallout, literally thousands of birds can be on the ground at your feet - with many neotropical goodies such as warblers and thrushes. Big Bend National Park is home to both spectacular scenery and the only Colima Warblers in the United States.
Many folks have been asking us when we're going to offer tours to Mexico. With over 1000 species on the country list and roughly 100 endemics, Mexico is a prime world birding destination - and it's right next door! So, we've finally decided to try offering trips to two of our favorite places: San Blas, a locale preferred even amongst seasoned veterans of Mexican birding; and the fabulous states of Colima and Jalisco, packed with endemics and specialties.
