Jeremy Dominguez

Jeremy is an Arizona native and U.S. Navy veteran who discovered birding in 2014 while serving as a Hospital Corpsman on Kodiak Island, Alaska. Inspired by his first encounters in the field, he returned home to Ohio and immersed himself in birding which led him to pursuing guiding professionally. Jeremy has now traveled to 49 states and 14 countries across Central and South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia expanding his knowledge about species close to home and abroad. 

He went on to earn a degree in Ecotourism and Adventure Travel from Hocking College, where he also studied abroad in the Bahamas. In 2020, he completed a record-setting Lower 48 Big Year with 724 species. Jeremy then served as Birding Outreach Coordinator and Ornithologist at the Toledo Zoo and Aquarium, where he designed and led ecotours across the U.S., founded the TZ Bird Club, developed bird-based STEM curriculum, and guided summer birding camps for youth. His conservation work included spearheading a window-collision monitoring program in downtown Toledo and contributing to international field research in Samoa in search of the critically endangered Tooth-billed Pigeon. He also brings extensive guiding experience through major birding festivals, including Biggest Week in American Birding, Yellow Rails and Rice, Rio Grande Valley Birding Festival, and the Southeast Arizona Birding Festival. Jeremy continues to serve as a regional eBird reviewer and has held multiple positions on the board of the Ohio Ornithological Society, most recently as President. 

Now based in Tucson, Jeremy brings over a decade of birding experience and a passion for sharing Arizona’s rich biodiversity. Whether helping guests connect with target species or introducing newcomers to the region’s iconic species, his goal is to create memorable experiences that deepen appreciation for the birds and habitats of southeastern Arizona.
